Your metabolic profile (VO2 assessment) makes it possible to
create a training program that’s specific to your end goal and optimized to
your individual metabolic markers. Whether you need to periodize your cardio,
train your base in the off-season, or avoid overtraining as you head into your
championship moment, your Metabolic assessment defines your profile and defines
the ideal workout program to achieve your performance goals.

Garmin 305 and 405
Next, simply download your profile directly into your 305 or 405 from
Garmin's Training Center software. From this point forward, your
Forerunner will guide you through every stage of your training plan to
make sure you're getting the most out of every workout! Go to fast or to slow and the alarms will let you know.
With your Metabolic profile, your Forerunner can then be configured todisplay and track:
Total Calories (kcals)… valuable energy cost feedback during your workouts or events
Fat Calories (kcals)… critical for developing a solid foundation whether for weight management, improved fitness or enhancing athletic performance
Zone and % of Zone… supports different zones for weight and non-weight bearing exercise (cycling, rowing, versus running, climbing, etc.)
and other key variables to help you efficiently reach your goals!
If you already own a Forerunner 305, be sure the watch is to download the recent updates by visiting www.garmin.com and loading unit software 2.60 or newer. The Garmin Forerunner 405 should be compatible with all software versions.
Garmin 50
If you own a Garmin 50 you'll be able to upload your heart rate data after completing your workouts. This will allow you to see how well you completed your workout. If you would like to be guided through your workout we recommend a Garmin 305 or 405 forerunner.
