Have a plan to avoid getting overloaded.
To name a few external stressors that are part of life which can impact
your training and racing results are:
- Seasonal increases in workload at your place of business
- Financial obligations
- Student exams
- Holidays
- Social commitments
- Vacations
- and many more...
Though many external stressors are unexpected and can overload you
quickly there are those that can be predicted and built into the
training plan.
For those working a full or part time job busy periods and holiday
breaks can often be predicted and planned.
For
the full and part time student exam periods and holiday breaks are
set well in advance that they can also be built into the training plan.
Identify your stressors and build your training plan so your recovery
weeks and decreased periods of training volume occur during these
periods.
Avoid the frustration of missed workouts and make your plan work for
you. Don't let your plan work you over.
